Woo I was lost and blind then a friend of mine Came and took me by the hand Then he led me to his kingdom That was in another land Now my life has changed, it's rearranged When I think of my past I feel so strange Wowie zowie well he saved my soul He's the rock that doesn't roll He's the rock that doesn't roll He's the rock that doesn't roll Well he's good for the body and great for the soul He's the rock that doesn't roll I was all alone like a rolling stone I was going nowhere fast I was on the road so far from home When the future touched my past Now I feel so blessed 'cause he gave me a rest And I finally feel like I've passed the test I wanna be like him, yes that's my goal Like a rock that doesn't roll Oh he's the rock that doesn't roll He's the rock that doesn't roll Well he's good for the body and great for the soul He's the rock that doesn't roll Ah-ow-yow I was lost and blind then a friend of mine Came and took me by the hand And he led me to his kingdom That was in another land Now my mind is blown, my head has grown A solid rock ain't a rolling stone Wowie zowie well the cat's got soul He's the rock that doesn't roll Well, he's the rock that doesn't roll (he's the rock that doesn't roll) He's the rock that doesn't roll (he's the rock that doesn't roll) You know he's good for the body and great for the soul He's the rock that doesn't Rock that doesn't Rock that doesn't Rock that doesn't roll You've got to rock me on the water You've got to rock me from my grave You've got to rock me till I'm feeling good You've got to rock me till I'm, rock me till I'm saved He's the rock that doesn't roll Well he's the rock that doesn't roll Well he's good for the body and great for the soul He's the rock that doesn't roll I wanna tell you He's the rock that doesn't roll He's the rock that doesn't roll Well he's good for the body and great for the soul He's the rock that doesn't roll

UFO 02:47
He's an unidentified flying object You will see him in the air He's an unidentified flying object And you will drop your hands and stare You will be afraid to tell your neighbors They might think that it's not true But when you open up the morning papers You will know they've seen it too He will come back like he promised With the price already paid He will gather up his followers And take them all away He's an unidentified flying object He will sweep down from the sky He's an unidentified flying object And some will sleep but will not die He's an unidentified flying object Coming back to take you home He's an unidentified flying object He will roll away your stone And if there's life on other planets Then I'm sure that he must know And he's been there once already And has died to save their souls He's an unidentified flying object You will see him in the air He's an unidentified flying object And you will drop your hands and stare Well he's an unidentified flying object Coming back to take you home He's an unidentified flying object He will roll away your stone Hi-ya-ah-wa-waoh wo-oh-oh-ah-woh

Darkness can't hide much longer The spirit is getting stronger You keep the dance halls humming But the end of the age is coming I've searched all around the world to find a grain of truth I opened the mouth of love and I found a wisdom tooth Ah Maybe you think I'm plastic But your situation's drastic I'm glad my faith is stronger This world won't last much longer I've searched all around the world to find a place of peace I've sat in the shade of God and I watched the joy increase Ooh ooh ooh ooh Oh oh ah ah Oh oh-ho-oh Ooh hoo hoo hoo ooh There's no time left for stalling Can't you hear someone calling Life all around is crumbling I think this world is stumbling Maybe you think I'm wrong now But this is my only song now I've searched all around the world to find a grain of truth Wo oh-ho-oh I opened the mouth of love and I found a wisdom tooth I've searched all around the world to find a place of peace I've sat in the shade of God and I watched the joy increase Yes, I've searched all around the world to find a grain of truth Woah I opened the mouth of love and I found a wisdom tooth I've searched all around I've searched all around I've searched all around the world [x2] Woo ooh hoo ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ah uh uh oh uh yeah [Talking]

If God is my father And you are my brother Then why can't we bother To really reach out and love one another Hmm hmm hmm Why do we keep on acting the way we do The way we treat each other, it just breaks my heart in two Once we were happy Oh yes once in the garden And then a lie broke the stillness And our hearts began to harden And hoping to be wiser man has reached too far Sometimes I think that we've advanced but then I look at where we are Ah ah ah ah

[Coughs] Sipping whiskey from a paper cup You drown your sorrows till you can't stand up Take a look at what you done to yourself Why don't you put the bottle back on the shelf Yellow fingered from your cigarettes Your hands are shaking while your body sweats Why don't you look into Jesus He got the answer Now think back to when you were a child Your soul was free your heart ran wild Each day was different and life was a thrill You knew tomorrow would be better still But things have changed, you're much older now If you're unhappy and you don't know how Why don't you look into Jesus He got the answer Work all night, sleep all day hey You take your money, throw it all away You say you're gonna be a superstar But you never hung around enough To find out who you really are Take a look, take a look Why don't you look into Jesus He got the answer Yes he does, yes he does Why don't you look into Jesus He got the answer You oughta check it for yourself Look into Jesus He got the answer

I am a servant, I am listening for my name I sit here waiting, I've been looking at the game That I've been playing, an' I've been staying much the same When you are lonely, you're the only one to blame I am a servant, I am waiting for your call (Aah aah) I've been unfaithful, so I sit here in the hall How can you use me when I've never given all How can you choose me when you know I quickly fall So you feed my soul and you make me grow And you let me know you love me And I'm worthless now, but I've made a vow I will humbly bow before thee Oh please use me, I am lonely I am a servant, getting ready for my part There's been a change, a rearrangement in my heart At last I'm learning there's no returning once I start To live's a privilege, to love is such an art But I need your help to start Oh please purify my heart I am your servant

A thief fell out of heaven with some loaded dice But the lamb rolled a seven back to paradise The bread was finally leavened so I had a slice And the sun began to rain Water swelled from fountains and then turned to wine Rocks fell from the mountains in a chorus line He came in tails and top hat and he looked so fine Yes the son began to reign A fox snuck in to steal away the grapes But the man who ran the vineyard shut the gate So he could not escape And now we'll live forever in another land Everything is ending like it first was planned Did you get your invitation to come play in the band And let the son begin to reign

Shot Down 01:58
I've been shot down, talked about Some people scandalize my name But here I am, talking 'bout Jesus just the same I been knocked down, kicked around But like a moth drawn to the flame Here I am, talking 'bout Jesus just the same Wo oh oh oh I been rebuked for the things I've said For the songs I've written and the life I've led They say they don't understand me but I'm not surprised Because you can't see nothing when you close your eyes They say I'm sinful and backslidden That I have left to follow fame But here I am, talking 'bout Jesus just the same Wo oh oh oh Go Jonny Yeah you wanna talk about my life, hey listen to me You got your facts all backwards, one two three And spreading rumors and gossip is a real bad game The only name to spread is Jesus name I've been shot down, kicked around But like a moth drawn to the flame Here I am, talking 'bout Jesus brother Here I am, talking 'bout Jesus sister Here I am, talking 'bout Jesus just the same Wo oh oh oh

In the midst of the war he offered us peace He came like a lover from out of the east With the face of an angel and the heart of a beast His intentions were six sixty six He walked up to the temple with gold in his hand And he bought off the priests and propositioned the land And the world was his harlot and laid in the sand While the band played six sixty six We served at his table and slept on the floor But he starved us and beat us, and nailed us to the door Well I'm ready to die, I can't take any more And I'm sick of his lies and his tricks He told us he loved us but that was a lie There was blood in his pockets and death in his eyes Well my number is up and I'm willing to die If the band will play six si... If the band will play six sixty si... If the band will play six sixty six

Diamonds 01:36
You can take your diamonds and lock them in your room And you will lose everything you save (La la la la la-ah) You can take your flowers and lay them on his tomb But I know he rose up from the grave Wo ho ho oh Oh ho oh Oh ho oh oh oh-oh
13.
One Way 02:20
One way, one way to heaven Hold up high your hands One way, free and forgiven Children of the lamb Two roads diverged in the middle of my life I heard a wise man say And I took the one less traveled by And that's made the difference every night and every day So I say one way, one way to heaven Hold your heads up high Follow, free and forgiven Children of the sky Children of the sky Yeah-oh-oh-oh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh Children of the sky
14.
Well my life is filled with songs But I just could not get along without my friends And I'm happy now but when this good life ends I know a better life begins And love to you sir Stonehill Armed with your axe full gallop on your amp Ah you're so crazy but you know it And I love you as we both crawl toward the lamp With Clapton on guitar And Charlie on the drums McCartney on the Hofner bass With blisters on his thumbs Dear Bobby watch your fears all hide And disappear while love inside starts growing Ah let it keep growing You're older but less colder Than the jokes and folks you spent your childhood snowing And someone died for all you friends But even better yet he lives again And if this song does not make sense to you I hope his spirit slips on through He loves you He loves you, he loves you And if these words do not appeal to you I hope his spirit slips on through He loves you He loves you, he loves you And if this song does not make sense to you I hope his spirit slips on through You know he loves you

Tuning Up 00:19
18.
Backstage, I cross the middle ground Curtains up and house lights down I sing love songs and pass myself around But afterwards Some people say they thought I put them down They feel so bad It does not matter what I say I hope tomorrow they have a better day They seem so trapped They need release They need your strong love and strange peace Reporters question me, is this a new direction for the young How lamb like their faces How snake like their tongues They quote me perfectly Then rewrite every word I speak And go away convinced we're all some new kind of freaks I feel so good It does not matter what they say Ah ha ha ha ha ha I hope tomorrow they have a better day We're all so trapped We need release We need your strong love and strange peace We need your strong love and strange peace We need your strong love and strange peace

about

In Another Land is honest, raw and humble. Larry Norman, with this album, showed he was a force to be reckoned with in mainstream Christian music. 1972's Only Visiting the Planet had already taken root and shook the hallowed doors of CCM. 1976's In Another Land took it farther, producing a seminal inspiration to musicians for over 45 years. Now, as his songs have been covered by everyone from DC Talk to Frank Black (Pixies), it is worth looking at the originals. In Another Land contains some of his most well-known songs, including "The Rock That Doesn't Roll," "Righteous Rocker #3," "Why Don't You Look Into Jesus," and "I Am a Servant."
