about

1963 saw a burst of creative energy for Larry Norman when he learned how to use an old magnetic reel-to-reel tape recorder he had recently acquired and was at long last able to physically capture the songs he had been writing and performing for the past several years. Armed with a cheap Mexican guitar and his little sisters Nancy Jo and Kristy Beth, he began recording and listening back more objectively to the vernal harmonies and chord progressions that had been swirling around in his head and through his fingertips for more than half of his young life. It's very interesting to hear these early versions of "Moses" and "Country Church" recorded years before the so-called "Birth of Christian Rock".

These songs and recordings were discovered in a dusty suitcase buried deep in the Solid Rock archives.
