Lonely Boy 01:07
I'm in the middle of an island I'm in the middle of a sea I'm staying here 'cause there's no place left for me Yay yay yay I'm a lonely boy in a lonely world There's no place left for me I've been everywhere in the world there is I've sailed the seven seas But when I return it's always the same No one's waiting for me I'm a lonely boy in a lonely world So now I'll sail the seas once more Now I'll sail the seas

My feet are on the rock, my name is on the roll But moving and a grooving does not satisfy my soul So when I’m down I go off on my own When I feel moved I dance before the throne Just like David [Spoken] Some people think I’m strange Yeah they think I’m some kind of fool You know they shake their heads in church And they laugh at me in school But I believe someone rolled away that stone And I am not alone So when I feel the need I dance before the throne Take it easy, nice and slow Feel his presence, don’t you know If he says follow, I will go I feel like dancing, ‘cause he saved my soul Goliath had a sword, David had a stone (Dum bum bum dum bum bum bum) I have got the Lord and I am not alone (Dum bum bum dum bum bum bum) So if you knock me down (Ooh woo woo woo) Oh brother I will not fight you back (Ya ya ya ya, woo wo-wo wo-wo woo-oh wo wo) You know God loves all his children (Wo woo woo woo) Red, white, yellow, brown and black (Wo-oh oh oh oh oh) Go Charley go My my my, such a little boy too, mmm hmm My feet are on the rock, my name is on the roll But moving and a grooving never satisfies my soul Don’t wanna do the stroll When I’m down I go off on my own And I am not alone When I feel moved I dance before the throne Mmm mm mm Back off Jimmy, it’s not wrong This kind of music comes from the church not from the devil Now I hope you heared me Good night God bless you

OK roll it One two one two three [Spoken] Well a blind man standing by the side of the road He was a blind from birth, it was a heavy load And though he lived a good life he could not see Up walked the man from Galilee He touched those eyes and he made that blind man see There ain't never been nobody like the man from Galilee Lazarus died and for four long days He laid in the grave and he did not raise His sisters kept saying how can this be Up walked the man from Galilee He said Lazarus come forth and he was set free There ain't never been nobody like the man from Galilee You got to stand on the rock to get your name on the roll Do not stray, do not stroll If you're all messed up and don't know what to do Then brother I am talking to you You got to stand on the rock to get your name on the roll Do not stray, do the stroll If you're all messed up and don't know what to do Then brother I am talking to you Well they nailed him to the cross, they laid him in the ground They put soldiers at the grave and there were people walking round Saying this is the end of christianity Up rose the man from Galilee When I die I know where I want to be Standing in the presence of the man, yeah There ain't never been nobody like the man, yeah Never been nobody like the man from Galilee And this is just the beginning

I've been having some hard times All my life I hope things change pretty soon Hard luck and bad news Has followed me from town to town All my life my luck's been down I'm getting so weary I don't have one friend Folks turn their backs when I'm around And where I walk the grass turns brown No one will come near me Hard luck and bad news Hard luck and bad news If you were in my shoes you'd die My life's been lonely I've never heard a kindly word Ugly names is all I've heard And mean is how they treat me Nobody trusts me They blame me for the fires in town Claim that hell is where I'm bound And pray that God will speed me Hard luck and bad news Hard luck and bad news If you were in my shoes you'd die Woo Life's not worth living My sorrow's more than I can say Tomorrow's just another day I hate to see the sun rise Yet maybe someday I'll find a man to call a friend I'll be his friend until the end In loneliness my heart cry Hard luck and bad news Hard luck and bad news If you were in my shoes you'd die [x2]

Moses 03:14
Moses tending sheep in the fields one day When he thought he heard a burning scrub-brush say Gotta free your people From the Pharaoh's hand Gotta take 'em all to the promised land Moses knew that God was talking to him So he set off to Egypt with a vigor and vim And Moses bugged the Pharaoh, he bugged him And he bugged him 'Till he got his people freed He used real bugs Yes indeed, ow ow He got his people freed Ow ow ow ow [x2] Moses on the banks of the wide Red Sea He stuck out a stick and one two three The water rolled back And the people walked down Everybody knew they wouldn't drown Pharaoh told his army to bring 'em all back An' here come the chariots, clickety clack Why Moses took his stick And he closed up the water An' the 'Gyptians all took a bath Ow ow ow ow What a laugh Ow they all took a bath Ow ow ow [cough] ow Ow ow ow ow Dirty 'Gyptians Grab my foot, take my hand Lead me on to the promised land Milk and honey, milk and honey Milk and honey, milk and honey Me and all my people is here So keep on sending manna From the atmosphere Milk and honey, milk and honey Milk and honey, milk and honey After forty long years in the wilderness They finally saw their potential metropolis They all gave thanks And they all praised the Lord Even though it took time he kept his word He grab their foot and he tooken their hand And he brung 'em all over To the promised land But it seems to me like an awful long time to be Looking for a home Ow ow ow ow A mighty long roam, home Looking for a home, a home a home Never borrow money needlessly [cough]

Ah forget your hexagram, you'll soon feel fine Stop looking at the stars You don't live under the signs Don't mess with gypsies Or have your fortune read Keep the table on the floor And don't you listen to the dead You can't hitchhike your way to heaven The devil's closed the roads You live once and you die once with no Re-incarnate episodes You can't hitchhike to heaven Or get there by just being good The rules were set down long ago When the spikes went in the wood OK now [Very faintly] Oh Heaven is in your mind When love is in your heart Maybe you'll find the way But first you have to start Forget your hexagram, you'll soon feel fine Stop looking at the stars You don't live under the signs Don't mess with gypsies Or have your fortune read Keep your table on the floor And don't you listen to the dead You can't hitchhike your way to heaven The devil's closed the roads You live once and you die once with no Re-incarnate episodes You can't hitchhike to heaven Or get there by just being good The rules were set down long ago When the spikes went in the wood

Life was filled with guns and war And everyone got trampled on the floor I wish we'd all been ready Children died, the days grew cold A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold I wish we'd all been ready There's no time to change your mind The son has come and you've been left behind A man and wife asleep in bed She hears a noise and turns her head He's gone I wish we'd all been ready Two men walking up a hill One disappears and one's left standing still I wish we'd all been ready There's no time to change your mind The son has come and you've been left behind La la la la la la la La la la la la la la la la la la la la Life was filled with guns and war And everyone got trampled on the floor I wish we'd all been ready Children died, the days grew cold A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold I wish we'd all been ready There's no time to change your mind How could you have been so blind The father spoke, the demons dined The son has come and you've been left behind You've been left behind [x4]

Rolling on Blue Shoes White take one One two three ten [Spoken] One two three four I had the rhythm of living in my shoes Along come the rhythm and blues The blues caught up and put me in a trance And my shoes refused to dance, dance, dance, dance, wo-oh My life began to slip and slide And I had no hope No place to hide I borrowed a gun, I had nothing to lose I figured it’s time to hang up my shoes He came along that very day He asked me why I walk this way My soles half worn and my tongue hung about And with broken laces I’m tripping out He said to me, get up and walk And I said, why don’t we sit down and talk He said, how ‘bout a new soul I said uh-ah, no chance I’m going to put these shoes in an ambulance Be-oo-bop bea-bow-ow He reached right out and touched my toes Everybody knows how the rest of the story goes If you’re steppin’ though life, then my appeal Is to follow in his footsteps and get your soles re-heeled And if ya, ya huh, you wanna give your feet a treat Honey, get ready to walk down the golden street But be careful how you use your shoes And don’t waste your time on the rhythm and blues, ooh He turns blue shoes white He turns blue shoes white He makes your wrong feet go right He turns your black soul white, that’s right He turns blue shoes white, c’mon man He turns blu-oo-ooh shoes white ????? white White like a light, light He turns blue-ue-ue-ue-ue shoes Go on shine ‘em up, come on, come on, tie ‘em right, tie ‘em right Keep it going, come on, get my feet moving, come on Tell me what Let's try one more time [Spoken]

Darkness can't hide much longer The spirit is getting stronger You keep the dance halls humming But the end of the age is coming I've searched all around the world to find a grain of truth I've opened the mouth of love and found a wisdom tooth Maybe you think I'm plastic But your situation's drastic I'm glad my faith is stronger This world won't last much longer I've searched all around the world to find a place of peace I've sat in the shade of God and watched the joy increase Na na na na na na Ooh ooh ooh ooh Maybe you think I'm plastic But your situation's drastic This time you can't restrain me Though in the past you've slain me Maybe you think I'm wrong now But this is my only song now I've searched all around the world to find a grain of truth I've opened the mouth of love and found a wisdom tooth Yes I've searched all around the world to find a place of peace I've sat in the shade of God and watched the joy increase Well I've searched all around the world to find a grain of truth And I've opened the mouth of love and I found a wisdom tooth Yes I've searched all around the world to find a place of peace And I've sat in the shade of God and I’ve watched the joy increase I said I've searched all around the world to find a grain of truth I've opened the mouth of love and found a wisdom tooth

One Way 02:46
One way, one way to heaven Hold your fingers high One way, free and forgiven Children of the sky Two roads diverged in the middle of my life I heard the poet say I took the one less travelled by And that’s made the difference Every night and every day, I say One way, one way to heaven Hold up high your hand Follow, free and forgiven Children of the lamb In my youth I knew the truth But I spent many years just sitting on the wrong track Now that I’m older I’m bolder And it’s high time I should be getting back And that’s a fact One way, one way to heaven Hold up high your hand Follow, free and forgiven Children of the lamb There’s only one way to heaven Look inside you He will guide you One way, one way to heaven Hold up high your hand Follow, free and forgiven Children of the lamb

I think I love you I've only known you for a couple-a hours I think I love you When you're near it’s like a room full of flowers Oh yeah We met last monday in the LA heat In the downtown section on a one way street A man with a bible dropped a tract at my feet You know the rest, your way is always the best I think I love you You're the best thing that's happened to me Yes you are [Spoken] I think I love you I used to wonder where you could be I used to seek after truth and follow where it led So many facts and philosophies inside my head I've heard so many people telling me you was dead I bet they all own a bible that's never been read Mm-hmm-hmm Woo-ooh-hoo-ooh Woo hoo ooh Ooh ooh ooh Ooh hoo All my life I've been wondering what I should do Suddenly I stopped wondering ‘Cause I really found the answer when I fell in love with you Wooh I think I love you I think I love you And I know that you love me I think I love you I think I love you I think I love you And I know you first loved me You're not dead, you're not even sick Mmmm whoahahahah whoo whoa bapanba.....

I was thinking just last Sunday How the world confuses one day With the rest throughout the year And that one day is the day that a child appeared Just a baby in a manger But the room was filled with strangers And a star hung in the sky Oh like an angel On the day that a child appeared Little children please remember Why we celebrate December It's much more than Santa Claus But you're right about the gift and tree A gift of life at Calvary Ooh I was thinking just last Sunday How the world confuses one day With the rest throughout the year Mmm-hmm-mmm And that day is the day that a child appeared
17.
What goes through your mind What goes through your mind You think your life is hell But you've learned to hide it well But when you sleep at night Does it all come back And it’s you who's black inside Oh who you trying to fool When you play it cool You know you have big doubts Of what life's all about And questions fill your head Is God really dead Is there life after we die If you're trying to please the world You're gonna be let down And the sea of people don't care if you live Or if you drown What goes through your mind What goes through your mind The things you think you want They only screw you up You can be good or bad Do what you want to do And it’s up to you to decide Just what goes through your mind girl I think you like being blind girl Look for the truth and you'll find it girl The truth's ahead, you're behind it girl Just what goes through your mind girl I think you like being blind girl Just what goes through your mind girl What goes through your mind [x2, faintly] [Whistling] What goes through your mind [x2, faintly]

Every human tie may perish Friend to friend unfaithful prove Mothers cease their own to cherish Heaven and earth at last remove And the music world grows garish While the moral codes regroup But no change can attend Jehovah's love No, no, no change can attend Jehovah's love No change can attend Jehovah's love No, you know no change can attend Jehovah's love You know he loves me, he loves me, he loves me He loves me, he loves me, he loves me Loves me, he loves me, he loves me Loves me, he loves me, he loves me Loves me, loves me. he loves me

U.F.O. 02:52
He's an unidentified flying object You will see him in the air He's an unidentified flying object And you will drop your hands and stare You will be afraid to tell your neighbors They might think that it's not true But when you open up the morning papers You will know they've seen it too He will come back like he promised With the price already paid He will gather up his followers And take them all away He's an unidentified flying object He will sweep down from the sky He's an unidentified flying object And some will sleep but will not die He's an unidentified flying object Coming back to take you home He's an unidentified flying object He will roll away your stone And if there's life on other planets Then I'm sure that he must know And he's been there once already And has died to save their souls He's an unidentified flying object You will see him in the air He's an unidentified flying object And you will drop your hands and stare Well he's an unidentified flying object Coming back to take you home He's an unidentified flying object He will roll away your stone Hi-ya-ah-wa-waoh wo-oh-oh-ah-woh
24.
In the midst of the war he offered us peace He came like a lover from out of the east With the face of an angel and the heart of a beast His intentions were six sixty six He walked up to the temple with gold in his hand And he bought off the priests and propositioned the land And the world was his harlot and laid in the sand While the band played six sixty six We served at his table and slept on the floor But he starved us and beat us, and nailed us to the door Well I'm ready to die, I can't take any more And I'm sick of his lies and his tricks He told us he loved us but that was a lie There was blood in his pockets and death in his eyes Well my number is up and I'm willing to die If the band will play six si... If the band will play six sixty si... If the band will play six sixty six
25.
I am a servant, I am listening for my name I sit here waiting, I've been looking at the game That I've been playing, an' I've been staying much the same When you are lonely, you're the only one to blame I am a servant, I am waiting for your call (Aah aah) I've been unfaithful, so I sit here in the hall How can you use me when I've never given all How can you choose me when you know I quickly fall So you feed my soul and you make me grow And you let me know you love me And I'm worthless now, but I've made a vow I will humbly bow before thee Oh please use me, I am lonely I am a servant, getting ready for my part There's been a change, a rearrangement in my heart At last I'm learning there's no returning once I start To live's a privilege, to love is such an art But I need your help to start Oh please purify my heart I am your servant
26.
Well my life is filled with songs But I just could not get along without my friends And I'm happy now but when this good life ends I know a better life begins And love to you sir Stonehill Armed with your axe full gallop on your amp Ah you're so crazy but you know it And I love you as we both crawl toward the lamp With Clapton on guitar And Charlie on the drums McCartney on the Hofner bass With blisters on his thumbs Dear Bobby watch your fears all hide And disappear while love inside starts growing Ah let it keep growing You're older but less colder Than the jokes and folks you spent your childhood snowing And someone died for all you friends But even better yet he lives again And if this song does not make sense to you I hope his spirit slips on through He loves you He loves you, he loves you And if these words do not appeal to you I hope his spirit slips on through He loves you He loves you, he loves you And if this song does not make sense to you I hope his spirit slips on through You know he loves you

about

This was a very limited release, primarily sold at a few concerts in 2000 and 2001 and never officially announced or even mentioned. Several of the tracks were appearing on CD for the first time, namely those from Street Level and Bootleg. Note that these 'first time on CD' tracks were all or mostly sourced from bootlegs and are of varying sound quality.

Note also that apart from the removal of the song I Love You, we present this release exactly as it was on CD, with no noise reduction, clean up processing or source recording swap outs.

Despite sharing the album title, this release is only semi-related to the Essential series' Survivor. This was a survey disc aimed at obtaining input into a three disc boxset Larry was planning. Evidently the idea morphed into what eventually became the 7 disc Essential Series.
