Moses tending sheep in the fields one day When he thought he heard a burning scrub-brush say Gotta free your people From the Pharaoh's hand Gotta take 'em all to the promised land Moses knew that God was talking to him So he set off to Egypt with a vigor and vim And Moses bugged the Pharaoh, he bugged him And he bugged him 'Till he got his people freed He used real bugs Yes indeed, ow ow He got his people freed Ow ow ow ow [x2] Moses on the banks of the wide Red Sea He stuck out a stick and one two three The water rolled back And the people walked down Everybody knew they wouldn't drown Pharaoh told his army to bring 'em all back An' here come the chariots, clickety clack Why Moses took his stick And he closed up the water An' the 'Gyptians all took a bath Ow ow ow ow What a laugh Ow they all took a bath Ow ow ow [cough] ow Ow ow ow ow Dirty 'Gyptians Grab my foot, take my hand Lead me on to the promised land Milk and honey, milk and honey Milk and honey, milk and honey Me and all my people is here So keep on sending manna From the atmosphere Milk and honey, milk and honey Milk and honey, milk and honey After forty long years in the wilderness They finally saw their potential metropolis They all gave thanks And they all praised the Lord Even though it took time he kept his word He grab their foot and he tooken their hand And he brung 'em all over To the promised land But it seems to me like an awful long time to be Looking for a home Ow ow ow ow A mighty long roam, home Looking for a home, a home a home Never borrow money needlessly [cough]

I was so down Just hanging around Wondering what to do When suddenly I was surprised from out of the blue The birds sang their song as I walked along I suddenly felt quite odd ‘Cos out of the sky fell a note from Mr God And it said You got the blues but you can shake it If you have faith you can make it You have a chance You must take it while you can Don't give up hope Never lose it You got a choice but you must choose it And that's what it said on this note from Mr God Ah ba la la etc Yeah this is a song about this man who’s walking down the street and he’s had a little bit too much to drink, for about twenty years. And he sees this piece of paper on the ground and he picks it up and it’s just a, it’s just a piece of paper somebody dropped out of their bible. It’s kind of a tract you know, one of those things that somebody writes down their, their ideas about how to explain God to somebody else they want to give this piece of paper to and this person just drops it on the ground and this guy picks it up and he starts reading, thinks this is about me. How could anybody know about me? Except for God. And that’s why he thought this was a note from God. And it wasn’t. But he thought it was. But it wasn’t. But he thought it was, and that’s what’s important. You know what happens when you start getting involved with God. Your life starts changing and you start getting kinda happy and you know, kinda messes up your viewpoint of life, you kinda change your perspective and the first thing you know you’re so glad that things have changed in your life you wanna go tell all your friends about it, and that’s what this guy did. He wanted to go back and tell all of his friends that he found this note from God and it said [Spoken] You got the blues but you can shake it If you have faith you can make it You have a chance So you must take it while you can Don't give up hope Never lose it You have a choice but you know, you got to choose it And that's what it said on this note from Mr God So if you feel down With your chin on the ground And suddenly you feel odd Well just look all around look down look down on the ground you some might see some kind of piece of paper floating around might just be a note from Mr God

When I was a little boy One thing filled my heart with joy That's when we would go and see All of the things at the circus Lions, elephants and bears Made me throw away my cares Funny clowns with painted frowns All of the things at the circus Daring men and pretty ladies Acrobats and things Inside a box of crackerjacks I found a diamond ring Afterward, the long ride home In my thoughts, so all alone I would dream of things I'd seen All of the things at the circus All of the things at the circus All of the things at the circus

Well a blind man standing by the side of the road He was a blind from birth, it was a heavy load And though he lived a good life he could not see Up walked the man from Galilee He touched those eyes and he made that blind man see There ain't never been nobody like the man from Galilee Lazarus died and for four long days He laid in the grave and he did not raise His sisters kept saying how can this be Up walked the man from Galilee He said Lazarus come forth and he was set free There ain't never been nobody like the man from Galilee You got to stand on the rock to get your name on the roll Do not stray, do not stroll If you're all messed up and don't know what to do Then brother I am talking to you You got to stand on the rock to get your name on the roll Do not stray, do the stroll If you're all messed up and don't know what to do Then brother I am talking to you Well they nailed him to the cross, they laid him in the ground They put soldiers at the grave and there were people walking round Saying this is the end of christianity Up rose the man from Galilee When I die I know where I want to be Standing in the presence of the man, yeah There ain't never been nobody like the man, yeah Never been nobody like the man from Galilee And this is just the beginning

Will true love smile on you Sometimes you never know And I myself was lonely Not so very long ago Life was hard, times were bad Heart was broken, I was feeling sad My dreams had blown away like a feather Could not smile, could not sleep Nothing helped, not even counting sheep Heart filled with rain, no change in the weather My faithful friend Whose name is Phydeaux He could not chase away my blues Ah but he tried though Empty heart, full of strife Then one day love walked into my life And all at once we stood there together Bra ba ba Bra ba ba Bra pa pa pa pa ba da pa da Wha pa pa pa pa Wha pa pa pa wa Held our breath for a baby boy Two months early, big fat bundle of joy And now we three are happy together Our dearest friend Old faithful Phydeaux He could not come along to the baby ward But he tried though Love abides, life makes sense Great big house with a little white picket fence And now we three are happy together

Rachael and me walked along the beach One of us wore a frown Rachael built sandcastles While I tore them down I dug up sand crabs And threw them far from shore Rachael returned them While I dug up more I gathered seaweed And made a lovely wreath Rachael wouldn't wear it So I threw it at her feet She wouldn't watch While I did my best headstand So while she was sleeping I buried her with sand [Whistling] Huh? Okay mom, I'm coming What? I don't know where she is [Spoken]

There was a wabbit And the wabbit woved a twain And the twain woved the wabbit wight back They had a habit Of always wunning into wain And they woved to pway with marbles and jacks The wittle wabbit He woved to talk to the twain The twain would answer wight back The wittle wabbit would say Cwunch cwunch cwunch And the twain would say quickety quack Oh the wabbit woved the twain And the twain woved the wabbit They would pway and pway all day Then the wabbit heard a man say the twain would move to Baltimore And that's when they decided they would both wun away And so the wabbit Started wunning for the twain The twain caught the rabbit And they never wooked back And the last they were seen They were disappeawing down the twacks

about

Charles Norman described this release as follows: For years we've been getting letters and emails from people asking if there was a Larry Norman CD that would be perfect for kids to listen to. Many of Larry's albums contain songs intended for more adult ears (think Why Don't You Look Into Jesus, etc.). So, after polling a few fans who have kids and / or grandchildren, we thought it was time to put together a compilation of songs that would be fun for the pre-teen set. So get ready to clap your hand and sing along with your progeny to Shake Your Rattle and Crawl - Larry Norman Songs For Kids!

Note that a few minor edits aside, there is no previously unreleased material on this album.

Note also that the song Jingle Bell Rock is not included in this Bandcamp release.
